How to read the table
Power
Higher power helps on serves, drives, and put-aways. It can also make soft shots feel livelier, so players with big swings may prefer a little more control.
Control
Control is about predictable response, dwell time, and confidence on drops, resets, and dinks. A thicker core often feels softer, though construction matters just as much as thickness.
Spin
Spin comes from surface texture, dwell time, and your swing path. A good spin paddle helps, but technique still does most of the work.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness tells you how well a paddle handles contact outside the center. Widebody shapes and stable perimeter construction usually give you more room for imperfect contact.
Reach
Elongated paddles help you stretch for balls and give two-handed backhands more handle room. The tradeoff is a slightly smaller face and a little less quickness at the kitchen.
